Day1: Meeting at the Kutaisi airport
Arrival at Kutaisi. Transfer to hotel, accommodation. Free time. Overnight stay in the hotel in Kutaisi
Day 2: Kutaisi - Martvili – Kutaisi
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure to Martvili. Visiting Martvili Canyon is a unique natural monument with traces of prehistoric animals, whose beauty is breathtaking. The walls of the canyon are a stone arch. Due to the very high humidity beautiful lianas grow here, and the canyon walls are covered with perennial mosses. You can take a boat trip along the Martvili canyon, see its beauty close and get unforgettable impressions. You can take a walk along the entire course of the river. The nature here is very beautiful: a large waterfall falling from a great height, many small waterfalls and streams that form beautiful blue lakes with clear water. Return to Kutaisi. A visit to the UNESCO World Heritage sites The Bagrati Monastery, the monastery and the Gelati Academy, founded by the great Georgian King David IV - the builder. Overnight at the hotel in Kutaisi
Day 3: Kutaisi - Mestia (svaneti)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Svaneti. On the way we stop several times to take pictures and to enjoy with waterfalls and amazing views on Caucasus mountain range. This region is a birthplace of the Svans, a unique ethnic group, who are distinguished by their amazing and old culture and traditions. Svaneti is also famous for its original and authentic architecture and is dubbed as a “land of thousand towers”. Those towers used to play an important economic and defensive role in the history of Svaneti. There are still dozens of the towers – middle Ages stone houses with fire watchtowers; and churches (10-14th cc). In the evening visit the Mestia Ethnographic museum, with an original Svan house “machubi.” Dinner and overnight at the guesthouse
Day 4: Mestia – Ushguli – Mestia
After the hotel breakfast drive to Ushguli village, the highest standing settlement in Europe (2200 m). The Ushguli architectural complex is a valuable architectural and historical monument, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List for its exclusiveness. There are about 70 families living in Ushguli (around 200 people). Spend time in Ushguli strolling through the old narrow streets. Visit Lamaria Church, complex with impressive 12th century wall frescos. Locals believe that Queen Tamar was buried under this church. Enjoy picturesque view of the Mount Shkhara. Return to Mestia to enjoy delicious dinner made of Svan traditional dishes. Dinner and overnight at the guesthouse
Day 5: Mestia – Zugdidi – Kutaisi
Breakfast. Departure to Zugdidi. The city is the capital of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, which combines Samegrelo and Svaneti. Zugdidi served as the capital of the principality of Mingrelia until 1867, when the principality was abolished by the Russian Empire. In 1839 David Dadiani founded his family's museum. The museum is one of the oldest in the Caucasus region, and currently houses more than 41,000 items, ranging from the second millennium BC to the end of the 19th century AD. Some of the most interesting items include Napoleon’s death mask dated 1833, a Napoleonic library of several hundred volumes, private letters, and Napoleonic silver and chinaware. Departure to Kutaisi. Overnight at the hotel in Kutaisi
Day 6: Kutaissi- Batumi-Kutaisi
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Batumi. After arrival, tour around the city. Visit the argonaut place, the Medea-statue, the statue of love - Ali and Nino - and the famous Boulevard. Next we´ll got to fort Gonio - a true pradise for lovers of history and ancient culture. Return to Kutaisi. Overnight stay in hotel in Kutaisi
Day 7: Airport transfer
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Tbilisi airport. Return to home
